What is the Golden Week?

There are some peak seasons in Japan.
Among these seasons, I am often asked about the Golden Week.

It is a collection of national holidays including Showa Day, Constitution Day, Greenery Day, and Children’s Day.

In combination with weekends, it becomes a big holiday, during which almost all the sightseeing spots will be very crowded.

Accommodation is heavily booked at this time at premium rates, so planning ahead both accommodation and train tickets is a must.

In 2016, The Golden Week will span from 29th April right through until the 5th May.

Check it out, if you are journeying in Japan at this amazing holiday time.
