The Bon Odori Festival is a big Japanese dance festival which is held annually at Kompleks Sukan Negara Shah Alam. This year it will be held on the 23rd July 2016 (Sat) 7pm – 9:30pm (Gates Open at 4:30pm).
It has attracted over 30,000 people every year, and it’s also known as one of the biggest Bon Odori festivals in the world.
Bon-Odori (Odori meaning dance) is a traditional summer dance performed during the Obon season in Japan.
The choreography is easy to remember so that everyone can participate.
There is no strict dress code for Bon-Odori, so another advantage is that visitors can happily join in with casual clothing. For those who want to try to wear a Yukata(a kind of kimono), please see this article.
