Have you ever wanted to experience a Japanese festival? Well the Japanese Cultural Society of The University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus (UNMC) in collaboration with the Anime and Manga of UNMC will be holding their annual event, Bunkasai!
What is Bunkasai you might ask? Bunkasai is the Japanese word for Cultural Festival and it is a common event held in most high schools in Japan. Much like Japanese School Festivals, the Japanese Cultural Society aims to provide an authentic experience for Bunkasai’s visitors.
Rich in Japanese culture, visitors will be able to play in a Gameshow-Themed Japanese Festival Games. Meanwhile, those who seek that adrenaline rush should go for the Haunted House.
There are also activities such as a Yukata Photography for those who want to try-on a yukata and get their pictures taken. The Society will also hold a Teru Teru Bozu Workshop so visitors can learn how to make a Japanese talisman doll that is used to ward away rainy days.
Hungry? Then visitors will be pleased to find food stalls throughout the event area that serves authentic Japanese food. As part of the collaboration, there will also be a Daten Café(Maid and Butlers Café) where customers can order a variety of desserts while being served by beautiful maids and handsome butlers.
Bunkasai hopes to bring a fun filled day for all its visitors as well as its volunteers while enriching them about Japanese culture. So, what are you waiting for? Visit our website;unmcjsoc.wixsite.com or the event page on Facebook; “UNMC Bunkasai 2017”, for information regarding the event such as, ticketing, activities, and how to find the venue.
